I’ve owned and loved a set of 15” monitor golds in original rectangular york cabinets for about 8 years.

About a year ago i upgraded the crossovers to a special design by the ukranian maestro Abbas Zulfugarov.
Certainly well worth it.

Today i took another step in tannoy liberation by transplanting the units into grf cabinets.

The bass just breathes and hangs in the air like nothing else ive heard. Awesome.

I now have a single loose 15” silver unit. Its in pristine condition. I need to figure out what to do with it.

Here compared to the monitor gold. These units are massive and their magnets can send tools flying.

Silver were monos, so you can find another one and have two separate mono speakers. Or just listen in mono

Congratulations , having trodden that particular path myself in the past I know exactly what you are experiencing moving from standard cabinets to GRF’s … Whilst I am also a big fan of a *True* mono system, your single Silver has a not insignificant $ value to it and may be worth cashing it in.

The speakers look amazing. It seems like 2021 was the year of corner horns for WBF!

What amps and preamps are you using on your Tannoy's, the sound on the video is fantastic.

Following this thread. I love the midcentury furniture, I have an extensive collection of midcentury. This is one of the many reasons I went with the Hartsfields.
