I have bought a smattering of 1s/1s RCA Living Stereo shaded dogs that are VG+ or NM-. Some are still en route, but the ones I have so far look great - but unfortunately the surface noise overwhelms the music. I don't know if I was just unlucky or if this is to be expected. Can someone speak to this?
Also noticed I had bought some 45 RPM Classic Records Living Stereo reissues about 5 or 6 years ago that I had never opened. I've opened and cleaned one so far and I was suprised that there is a fair amount of surface noise on these 200g one-sided LPs. Nothing like the originals that I mentioned above (and it doesn't overwhelm the music) but not as quiet as, say, the ORG reissues of late. I have a couple others still unopened and a box set of the Heifetz titlees on the way which was very expensive. If these Classic Records are known to be somewhat noisy I might consider reselling and need to decide before I open them.
Thanks in advance for any info/opinions.
