Introducing Sigberg Audio subwoofers
As a recent sponsor (introduction post here), I am creating a couple of threads to present our products. We have two different subwoofer models, and I will be presenting them below.
We are a manufacturer of active speaker systems where subwoofers are an integral part of the system, so you can trust us to take subwoofers very seriously. And while we have customers who use them in multichannel systems, our subs are designed and marketed explicitly to give the very highest performance in stereo music systems.
Our subwoofers use Hypex amplification and Scan-Speak drivers.
The Inkognito subwoofer
The Inkognito is a a bit different, and has been designed to offer flexibility in placement, and provide you with an option for placing a subwoofer when you can not fit (another) traditional sub. The Inkognito has a pizza shape, measuring at 650x540x170mm (~25x21x7 inches). It has been designed to load against a adjacant surface, typically a wall or the floor. This means the driver will be facing either the wall or be downfiring towards the floor.
It can be placed horizontally (It will then be ~27 inches tall including feet):
It can also be placed vertically (It will then be ~8 inches tall including feet):
Additionally, it can be mounted to the wall with an optional wall mount.
This gives an incredible flexibility with regards to placement, and it is still built to the highest standards with an incredibly rigid cabinet, advanced DSP and high quality amp and drivers. So while flexibility has been a priority, it is not a lifestyle item, but a true, high end product. The Inkognito is currently available in 10" (to be discontinued) and 12" versions. These are not shallow mount drivers, but full size scan-speak drivers that are literally wedged in there, filling the full height of the sub:
The 10D dual 10" subwoofer
The 10D is a more traditional concept, with a force cancelling / dual opposing design - featuring two heavy duty 10" drivers. To my knowledge it's the smallest dual 10" subwoofer in the world, and can deliver the SPL comparable to a competent 15" subwoofer. It measures 360x385x410mm (~14x15x16 inches) including feet.
Just as the Inkognito this is a high end subwoofer designed for music first, with minimal group delay, incredible transient response, low distortion and a very wide frequency range. Both subs will play cleanly up to 3-400hz if you ask them to. Typical in-room extension is 18-20hz. Both subwoofers are available in high quality satin white or satin black finish. These subs are the natural companions to our own active speakers, but they are also at home in any high end system, supporting both XLR, RCA and High level inputs. They also have built-in DSP featuring a 9-band parametric EQ so that those with the interest and competency to measure the response of their system can tune them in perfectly.
