The very sad news is that Tim de Paravicini, the audio design genius of E.A.R., has passed away from cancer.

A brilliant audio designer and character, no doubt he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and had great respect for his work.

Very sad news, he was a great guy, in many ways a Renaissance man.

I did not know him personally, however had some correspondence back when I owned a vinyl mastering studio. A man of strong opinion to say the least.

He chastized me for using variable pitch on my Neumann...not pure enough ;)

Sad news indeed.

Very sad news...I did not know him personally, but I always enjoyed and learned a lot reading his opinions. His comments were usually a goldmine for audio information, and also highly entertaining.
My condolences to his family and friends, RIP.

Very sad news indeed. I used to have a lot of his gear, turntable, cdp, dac, loudspeaker, pre and power amp. Now I Only have the EAR 509, which I use once in a while. I met him a couple of times, very interesting person, with a deep knowledge of all things audio. R.I.P .Tim.
