Yes had a pr , way back when , as well as the ev 30"...:)

No substitute for displacement , obvious when you hear a big'un play bass vs these new longthrow small ones, yes i can see you not being able to duplicate the 24's ....

I'm not big on external crossovers to mids, so I'd cheat, run the Quads and ribbons together, and maybe a pair of modern subs, like JL, that have some external adjustments for xover freq/slope/level? Dunno. I know one of the objectives is to limit the amount of low freq into the Quads, so i'd have to research how to do that in the least nasty way. I have some old passive X-overs sitting around, but not sure what i'd use. That's a few projects away. I have a whole bunch of literature from back in the day on stacked Quads, with drawings for a horn loaded woofer.
