some rap songs make folks angry, some don't like go-go others may not like the lyrics of soul music, but can you get mad at jazz? this music form is maybe the most harmless and relaxing music we have, yes it may ebb and flow and take you on a sort of ride but it won't make you mad which is why I love this music form.

^^^Depends on the style or form.
Cecil Taylor from the late 50's, early 60's could get some teeth gnashing, I suspect ;)

Some improvised progressive jazz music can be irritating...just as much as RAP music.
Some classical music too can be "virulent".

But generally (99%) I don't get mad @ jazz ? ... it flies well surrounding my aura. :b

free-style jazz is just annoying. :p

Smooth (mindless) jazz drives me out of my mind.

I cannot listen to that stuff.

Yes, hard to guess but your guess made sense. I just happen to prefer blues to jazz but like you, like all kinds of music but between just those two that's where my preference lay. Plane is SR-71
I'm with you...and by a pretty wide margin as well. :)

Interesting. I would have to guess that your experience with jazz is rudimentary, because much jazz, especially "traditional" jazz, has a huge overlap with blues, in songs, styles and performers.

But why does that matter or is even of significance? A preference is a preference, no?

Sure, but most serious blues lovers feel simlarly about quite a bit of jazz, IME. Certainly the musicians of both genres cross-pollinate regularly.

They do, no question! Other genres do as well, but when you get down to the basic roots of each style you'll a find preference.

Context, Context, Context ... They did get mad at jazz back then ... Now it is seen as a highly intellectual and artistic music genre ... Will Rap eventually follow suit? Time only will tell ...

No Sir, but I can dig this....not because it personally applies to me now, but it just sounds goooooooooood. The avatar is my favorite plane of all time, and I have some personal experience in observing it in flight, like right over my head, perhaps 40 feet high. Cuts the air like a hot knife through butter.

and if you need more flesh on the bones this:

Most excellent music. Was pain in the neck to find the first one but ordered both :).
