I inherited my parents early 60's Admiral console stereo record player. I got two "model" numbers off the inside: One has part no: 40A201-001 and the other has model no: RC7FID-28H.
I haven't seen any other numbers for this system.
I'm hoping to replace the needle as I'd imagine it is likely in need of freshening (it does play records but I'm worried it might damage them?).
I've attached pictures of the needle assembly; I'm hoping I can get some guidance on where to get one if available.
Is this a cartridge of some sort?
Thanks in advance!

Greg, I am new to this area. I thought there were two or three kinds of needles. Can you expound a bit on "standard"? Does this unplug from the clip and related wires along the tonearm?

I love neophytes. Welcome to WBF. Sit tight someone here will actually recognize that cartridge. I don't. Moving coils are relatively modern. So it is either a ceramic or moving magnet. the needle is actually called the stylus. If it is user replaceable, i will probably slide out. That also assumes some ne is still selling it. Probably it is best o get an entire new cartridge. I think you send the pictures to the needle doctor to see if they recognize it.
You might also want to to look at this.

This I am sorry the link did not work.

The other option is to get the specs for the console; tt and phono preamp and by a cartridge from someplace like music direct or elusive disc.

I think that is a Euphonics cartridge.

Look at thevoiceofmusic.com. They have something that looks very similar.
