Munich High End 2019

Just got back from Munich today, I had a great time.
I must say it was amazing meeting you guys in person and putting some faces to the avatars.
Thanks for organising the meet GMKF

My 3 rooms are
  • Solution room with those Rockport speakers I have never heard deeper sound stage before, the speakers disappeared wow just wow.
  • The Spectral / Wilson room sounded amazing too.
  • Western Electric was something else, effortless.
And a mention for the Totem Acoustics room, for doing so much on a low budget as everything I have mentioned above are doing it for mega bucks but Totem did it for less.

This is a Diesis paired with Kondo using Kuro cables. On vocal as appeared in video is quite stand out with better presence than most videos I have heard. Very promising new brand (maybe not new but new to me). The sound seems tiny bit warm. I know Kuro cable is far from warm so could be from the Onkagu. Interesting speakers from Italy. Need to hear with more complex music. With better front could be outstanding.

Don't have anything more complex but have different type on Bob's channel. At Munich they played the Kondo as well as an integrated SS amp (I don't remember details of that amp) and they ultimately preferred that SS amp for more oomph. I did play the Emperor concerto and Lalo on this though not have a video

The Ongaku was not being played in these two videos. The new Diesis hybrid tube integrated pre/ss output ($29K) was being used during most of the show. We did play the Ongaku occasionally, but as Ked says we like the oomphf of the integraged.

Diesis has been in business for over 5 years. I have sold six pairs of Diesis speakers in the last six months here in the US. I assure you for many and myself personally they ARE outstanding.

Instead of doing internship at banks in New York, University grads should do internship with rhapsody audio. Enjoy plenty of hifi equipment and music and learn to sell too

My pleasure.

I found a video of the MSB room. If anyone has other music playing please share.

Diesis Audio in the Marriott:
I was also blown away by this room. Easily in my top 5 (I haven't heard absolutely everything this year).
They didn't even use the Kondo amp but their own one instead.
But I do think their amp is a hybrid, not pure SS if I got this right.

I think you need to call me bonzo in that post at least

No more speakers for you, Christoph. 6 is enough

Ked, I always thought you'd be a more The Corrs kinda drummer. Or even Karen Carpenter.

Justin loves Karen carpenter. Apogees were made for bonzo, he uses them for Karen carpenter

Hello,
The speakers in the Soulution room were not Rockport, but Magico M6. Great sound indeed!

As much as I loved them for their excellent performance in a rather small package, unfortunately their price is WAAYYYYY out of reach for me :(
So no danger here... ;)
