First off I must admit that I am a Woody Allen fan and I suspect that I have seen all of his films including when he played James Bond in Casino Royale in 1967. Some of his films are truly masterful such as Annie Hall and Match Point to name but two. Others have been quickly forgotten while others are somewhere in between.
This is a typical Woody Allen written and directed by Woody Allen that lasts but 100 minutes. Sadly this is a film that is somewhere between quickly forgotten and why did I go see that film (in spite of an excellent cast of characters as well as acting).

Set in the 1920s on the opulent Riviera in the south of France, Woody Allen's MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT is a romantic comedy about a master magician (Colin Firth) trying to expose a psychic medium (Emma Stone) as a fake. What follows is a series of events that are magical in every sense of the word and send the characters reeling. In the end, the biggest trick MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT plays is the one that fools us all
Cast: Catherine McCormack, Colin Firth, Eileen Atkins, Emma Stone, Erica Leerhsen, Hamish Linklater, Jacki Weaver, Jeremy Shamos, Marcia Gay Harden, Paul Ritter, Simon McBurney
Director: Woody Allen
