Lamborghini was a tractor manufacturer before he got into the car business. If you were reading the car magazines when the first Lamborghini model appeared, you might have read the story.

It seems odd, but Lamborghini made a utility vehicle many years ago.

When I worked at an advertising agency, we represented a company that distributed Ferrari vineyard tractors. It seems that supercar makers are a lot like cottage audio guys in that they tend to keep their day jobs. The beauty of it is when the hobby outruns the day job!

Not a supercar, but Subaru started as an industrial company, and the first cars were made so that employees would have a cheap way to work. They used Fujitsu industrial pump motors.
