La Folia de la Spagna SACD

I have the original vinyl. Super sound and great fun. Anyone have a clue on how they get the center and rear (and sub) channels? The original vinyl was only issued in stereo.

I do not know but there are two possibilities:
1. The additional channels are very subtle and might be derived from matrixing the L/R.
2. The original analog session recordings were in multichannel although it was not possible to release that on vinyl.

I will check the booklet later when I get home...

OK, all clarified now. I have La Folia (Harmonia Mundi) and have already ripped it to ISO file and also extracted 2 channel DSD64.
I did not have the BIS - La Spagna, but just bought it for $21 delivered. I will have to rip that when I get my hands on in in a few weeks or so.

Do you use the PS3 or the Blu-ray ripper?

ps3

You need something ripped?

Just sent a PM. But I will add a general question. When ripping a CD dbpoweramp compares the checksum of our rip with a reference database to assure us of the quality of the rip. Do SACD rips have something similar?
