Grammy Winners

I was impressed by the performance of H.E.R. She's quite a guitar player as well.

yes, I had never seen her before (no pun intended)

despite the old farts hating on current music in the other thread, I find it humorous looking at Album of the Year recently:

Kacey Musgraves
Bruno Mars
Adele
Taylor Swift
Beck
Adele
Mumford & Sons
Daft Punk

mostly good music that is well recorded. Adele being the notable compressed shame. Someone will fix that at some point

It seemed to me that Music has just become an over the top Broadway production. 100's of extras and dancers as if the music isnt good enough to stand on its own. I am not an Alicia keys fan but she did a really good job and IMHO Brandi Carlyle was by far the best . GAGA was like a caricature of Mike Jagger on Acid. Who dressed Andra Day OMFG LOL

And just to rub our noses in it, Emily Lazar wins Grammy for best engineered album, Colors, Beck.
First woman to win this category, call me cynical but.......
And from the DR database.FE059091-6B60-40C4-8BBC-B19B59928946.png

Very happy to see Donald Glover win. We need more good music like this.

Mick Jagger on acid is a great description. In this world of over produced pop numbers, I actually appreciated the crack addict inspired performance of Gaga.

Beck Morning Phase (his Album of the Year) and others were Bob Ludwig and sound fantastic at least on vinyl.

I have not heard Colors on vinyl yet

Yup, she ruined her own song lol.

Morning Phase is brilliant but Colors just sounds yuk!
Though is the engineer responsible or the producer?
Maybe I’m disparaging her without reason.

The Janelle Monae LP has killer sonics

The power went off just when the show was about to start (heavy snow downfall).
Very frustrating to have missed it. It's nice keeping track with the latest music trends on stage.

But thanks to Instagram, Twitter and YouTube...they have some recordings of the main highlights to watch later on.
