My daughter is learning to play this song on piano. It is such a beautiful song, so I thought I'd ask the collective:

Brendel has consistently done well with Beethoven IMO.

I recommend Brendel as well. He recorded the complete piano sonatas more than once. I like both the early analog recordings and the later digital recordings.

Lee & Jay, thank you for the Brendel recommendation. I purchased it and played it for my daughter. While I was playing Fur Elise on the stereo, my daughter was playing air piano, following along with the sheet music. It was for her a very educational experience.

Oh, BTW, the rest of the album ain't bad
