Universal players are dinosaurs, sorry. (...)

Surely they will become dinosaurs but IMHO they are not currently dinosaurs. Perhaps in the US market their sales and use is declining, but the in the other 95% of the world the physical media player is still an important part of an high-end system. Considering that most of the high-end companies export a lot to Asian and European markets, having a top physical media player in their ranges can be a must for companies wanting to have complete systems.

Marc Dohan forced out of Continuum? That was an interesting piece of information. Do you have anything indicating that is the case? I know Continuum Audio Labs inquired with Mika Huber (the man behind the Thales tonearms and the Audiostone turntables) but he declined their offer to join.

Yes, that is correct. I saw Mark at the Australian HiFi show late last year. He is no longer with Continuum. His audio involvement is with Tells distribution. The website is http://www.telosaudio.com.au/

I am sure if you ask they will confirm.

I have heard from a very well known reviewer that the person who designed the Continuum table is no longer with the company (I belive he mentioned the name Mark). He was vital not only at the design stage, but also at the build stage, and without him, the owners were not able to build any more (workig) tables.

Maybe things have progressed since that time (my info is 18 months old), but at the time he said that Continuum was 'basicly a history'.

I believe he either had come on WBF or had the info passed on from the US Continuum dealer that Continuum turntables continue to be made.

Looks like continuously adjustable loading? If so, wonder if it's remote control?

what's continuously adjustable ? The unit does it or is it switchable via remote ? If remote, that would be cool. Looks $34K USD.

Cartridge loading from 0-1000 ohms. The rest I was asking; unfortunately the link is in Japanese but someone here must read Japanese :)

I saw 3,500,000 Yen. Does that equal $34K USD

so is it remote control load setting ? What are the load value options or is it completely variable like a volume knob (that would be cool) for the entire range ?

Apparently so. It is on the website now. No idea about the cost. The Perseus I would say is very, very good. If the Orion is significantly better then it would be something indeed. Too bad our friend Roysen has passed. He might have liked it.
