I have a recording of this piece I listen to quite regularly. The sound quality is world class. I don't have the original recording though and don't know who is playing or from which album the recording is taken. I am very curious if anyone here can help me find that information.
I only have two clues in regards to finding out who is playing and what recording this is. The recording itself starts with a few seconds of bird sounds clearly recorded outside a church before we hear a distant church bell being struck three times. Then a church bell where the microphone must be placed inside the chruch bell is struck three times. The transient speed and dynamics of this is WOW out of this world and if you are not prepared for what is coming you will jump out of your seat.
Then the music starts with an organ and no other instruments accompanying inside the church. The sound quality and recording is superb with the reflections from the church and its acoustics clearly audible in a grand presentation.
The recording I have is taken from the album Supreme Stereo Sound 6 - Majesty. This CD is released by the Chinese record label ABC (Intl') Records. It is clear however that all tracks on that particular CD has been taken from other record labels and recordings but they don't show any reference to what album or who is playing.,
