Anyone know anything about the new AKM chips and how they handle DSD? To the best of my knowledge, current AKM chips digitally filter DSD and then 're-modulate' to whatever flavor of Delta Sigma AKM deems best. Pretty much par for the course these days with DSD DAC's, with some notable exceptions...

just curious. Wishing for a DAC at this price point that is one of the 'exceptions'. Thinking of stretching up to Luxman, but then again, the upcoming iFi iDSD Mini at the 1000 price point is probably where I will end up...

If you're stretching, don't forget the excellent Sony HAP-Z1ES digital music server and the special deal on the Lampizator Amber DAC. Two very interesting choices.
And both are quite a bit below the Bryston at $2k each!
