It would seem the author advocates aligning the stylus to be vertical in the groove (visual alignment w/ USB microscope and equal distortion in both channels.) "You will need some sort of instrument or software that can measure total harmonic distortion (THD) and plot accumulated spectral traces." He believes the cartridge should not be aligned for a canted stylus with minimal crosstalk which "would result in worse HF reproduction, more harmonic distortion and worse tracking." There is no discussion of listening, correlation of either approach to sound or actual sonic results either way.
