If you have high impedance output toobz, then there will be better mating with the high impedance Senns.

Otherwise, a low output impedance SS amp with current will drive anything optimally.

64 ohms is a good spot, because it neither ultra low impedance nor ultra high, and should do well with most amps. However, the standing rule is lower impedance driving higher impedance whenever possible.

Thank you. I just checked...the Arcam rHead amp output impedance is 0.5ohms...so with 64 ohms Z1R, seems like that should be a fine start.

Your Arcam should be a fine place to start.
I’m using a OTL tube amp with my HD600. Made for each other. Agree, 64 ohm is middle road and shouldn’t be to hard. I believe some of the Chord dac/headphone amps pair well with the Sony. Maybe the mojo 2 is decent value for money. The Hugo TT2 is still on my list as a dac amp combo.

Great...thanks! Will keep that in mind. For now, this remains simply assurance I can give my wife absolute quiet during her most intensive periods of studying for exams so I am highly likely to leave this for now. The main system is and has always been the focus.
