the whole point was that he thought the cd was defective and exchanged it twice because he heard that cracking noise. It was only when he went to the live performance and saw the conductor snap his baton in half that he got it. The moral to the story is that MBL will let you hear every little detail.

I thought it was a brilliant commercial and very amusing. Of course, I'd never buy equipment like the MBL stuff must cost.

I don't get the point of the thread.

I'm surprised. It seemed fairly clear to me. The cost of of the MBL is high because it comes with dried branches and other things that make noise and people to step on them. That's why Breunniger can say MBL makes digital sound like analog vinyl phonograph records. You get the old snap crackle pop we've come to know and expect from recordings. BTW, serves the guy right for dressing informally to listen to MBL. If you are going to listen to German equipment and hear it korrectly, you haf to do it ze Cherman vay! Formal, Ya! Zat is how vee do zings at KAOS!
