Hard to tell by photos alone but my bet is that this is over-damped. I see and hear so many rooms that are over-damped and the midrange is sucked out.

How have you come to the conclusion that it's over damped ? It's all diffusion with seemingly zero absorption .

Looked to me like lots of absorption panels on the side.

Hi gents,

To me it looks like a combination of diffusion and absorption. At a guess it looks like there's absorption in the form of bass/corner traps, on the wall behind the speakers in between the horizontal slats and in the ceiling also - the hard diagonal frames likely have absorption in the centre, with the reflective surfaces facing out for diffusion, and the absorptive surface in the middle to tame bounce. It looks like diffusion is used nearly exclusively for the walls, although the grey strip at the wall/floor interface and the gold/bronze coloured textured fabric could also be absorption. There's also a black textured panel in the ceiling at the very top of the frame in the third photo.

Yes, I'm guessing, but I'd be surprised if a speaker that has six 11" passive radiators on the back wouldn't need some sort of absorption given its directivity and ability to energise a room.

Be well,

It goes to show you really can't tell much from photos!

It looks to me too. And I would assume that a world class music listening room is professionally tuned acoustically.

I like his choice of gear. The Marten speakers are very, very good although I've mostly heard them with EAR electronics.

Different mood of the room . 50+ transformers located on the ceiling of another room to ensure that the dimmers does not affect the SQ.
12” thick side walls, 2 layers of concrete with fine sand in between wall. Floor 12” concrete with a 1.25” hardwood. Cost of room + acoustic treatment cost more than USD100-200k .
Took the acoustician more than 2 months to finish the room with 2 other workers - full time

Correction . My earlier posting incorrect . Yes , a lot of absorption behind the wood & acrylic diffusers
