I learned about the good qualities of Vishay bulk foil resistors in an article in Hifi News and Record Review magazine written by Ben Duncan in the 90s. Audio Synthesis, a company that marketed some of his designs used almost exclusively Vishay resistors in their passive attenuators. I still own the ProPASSION attenuator. Sometimes a friend borrows it from me and it is always a terrible fight to get it back!
Conrad Johnson also used exclusively Vishay resistors in most of their top electronics since the Premier Seven. When I upgraded my Premier Seven A to B status, the upgrade was just changing the power supply film resistors to Vishays, as these resistors were not considered critical in the first versions, and changing the RCA plugs.
