I think Nakamichi owns that one. This one has an arm that can do pretty much anything with the touch of a few buttons along with a camera, screen, lasers, the list goes on and on. I just find it so darn trippy. It's something you might only find in a sci-fi movie except someone actually built it.

Thank You Steve,

thank you very much. A lot of people do not, and will never understand, what my great target was and still is.
This turntable is a unique prototype to find out the best and the latest technique, and only this one does exist.

With aprox. 180.000, $ of investment and more than 4.500 hours of very hard working, it is its price worth, I think.
Nearly ten interested customers are waiting. But I'm still not in the mood to sell it.

In the last threee years I sold two technology lizenses, from this project, to other companys.
So... I'm happy, and thats all I wanted to be. But today I'm not in the mood to explane more.

At last, as I sayd in the beginning: most people will not understand.

Thanks again Steve, and all my best wishes to you.
Thanks an good bye
Rainer

sorry for my bad English.:b

That table is a complete joke. You can improve your sound over digital easily for $30k...a complete setup....lol

What about your TechDAS?

I am surprised that with all the attention to detail that goes into your typical $100k-200k turntable none addresses the problem of offset holes resulting in significant rotational speed variation like the Nakamichi did 30 years ago. No matter how perfect the motor speed is, an off center hole will be noticeable on notes of more than a second duration.

Hi

I am now patiently waiting for the $100 K speaker cable ... Will it be this year?

There are 100k cables - just get a long enough piece of Belden...;)

Guys - we live in a world where people wear watches that cost as much if not more than our hi-fi systems - and they are literally jewellery - a simple digital watch, or our mobile phones give us the time. Funnier still is that Breitling sold more than the whole specialist audio industry did in the USA a couple of years ago.

My gripes are that:
a. The turntable is just plain horrible looking - a cross between Liberace and an Arabian Harem. The Sirius is just a super cool purposeful looking stealth fighter, the Continuum is a beautiful Wurlitzer like creation, the Tech Das - like a modern DJ Deck meets Star Trek Enterprise.
b. whilst it solves problems - do the problem solving mechanism cause their own set of problems in themselves
c. I cannot understand why the designer went belt drive

What a disappointment Rainer...
Now you're just one of the 'mob'.....I see nothing new here.
What happened to the Derainer 2012 with the direct drive and the four electrically adjustable VTA tonearm platforms?
Yawn.....

Hi Rainer, you have been missed.

That new TT is pretty sharp looking; is that a small screen TV @ left, under "play"?

And what kind of music do you like listening to?

Cheers,
Bob

Now you're just one of the 'mob'.....I see nothing new here.
You are kidding me, I think.;)

my second Player is still under development and construction.

And while developing this second Record-Player, (the Dereneville Direct-Drive from 2012) I found the way to this brandnew Tangential-Tonearm.
It is an universal, computer programmable, HighEnd-Tonearm - yust the best in the world.

IMG_4044_web.jpg

IMG_4036_web.jpg

IMG_4046_web.jpg

It works fully automaticly, is controlled by a rotary encoder, has a turnable display and is equipped with the latest electronic on bord.
The tonearm itself is gimbal mounted and can move free in all directions. and the base ist continiously moved, to get less than 0,01 degree angle.
You can dial: homeposition - 12" - 10" - 7" or center for inside-out-cut or you can move it maually, as you like.
Is that disappointing you?

Another example is my new and latest, universal final drive unit for a lot of turntables all around the world.
But listen: it is computer progammable via USB-connection. You can make 3 setups, you can increase in speed and also decrease in speed-
-just tepends to the weight of the platter. You can programm Motion-Animation means: turning you turntable for just one minute.
Every 12 hrs. or 24 hrs. or 48 hrs. what ever you like (if you are on vacation or hollyday, you can be shure, the oil and the string/belt will be moved)

P1110962-k.JPG

And now, my friend, are you still disappointed? If so, I can't help.

A last few words to this new record player: the platter has 25 kilogramm, is 100 % magnetic beared, there is absolutely no noise anymore.
The feet of the plinth are adjustable and have a specially absorbtion tecnique inside. It is prepared for vacuum clamping and direct drive.

Thats all I want to say to my new creations...

And to my dear friend Steve: yes, I'm going to manufacture and to sell my latest babys.
But only made by honestly order

And all together, this tools are named: Dereneville Modulaire

This is simply WOW! Those pictures above...I can hear the albums playing in total synchronicity with my entire brain and soul.

Rainer, what music ? genre(s) do you like most?

And please, stick around and educate us...please please please. :b

* There is a chain, to move the linear drive tonearm, like a bike chain...this is very intriguing; could you please tell us more about?
Also, that little glass window (not a small TV screen); you can see some electronic components through it; could you please elaborate on its utilization/purpose?

This is all abso!utely fascinating; you are my favorite guru TT designer ever. I want to learn more about this magnificent design of high level of TT architecture.
You have technical words, pics, links, more sharing on your design and yourself?

Thank you Bob for your compliments.

Well my genre of analogue music is very different: Abba, Celine Dion, Clannad, Enya, Milva, Lorde, The Eagles, John Denver, Friedemann, The Shadows, Dead can Dance, Pink Floyd, Al Di Meola, The Carpenters, Buddy Holly, Madonna, Peter Maffay, and some others... And I like Organ-Music. In 2016 I will produce a new record with ENYA-Music, played on a big church organ. I will keep you informed.

And off corse I will stay here in this forum...:b why not?

The chain is called: an energy chain. Inside are the audio cables including the shield. They are conected symmetric to the tone arm and to the XLR-output.
This chain is to move the audio cable very smoth and stressless. http://www.igus.de/wpck/1764/productoverview_EC#Section_5
That little glass window is just to keep dust away from the electronic control unit.

Me and two friends of me, we have developed this control unit, including all the software, by ourself (automotive standard).

Well, it would be a great pleasure for me, to explane this latest TT-technic to Michael Framer. Than he could translate and report all the new features.
Perhaps I can get in touch with him... some day.

This is one of the right places here for your latest design, and yourself; What's Best Forum. ...On the Best of Everything. ...On things, and people.

I agree 100 %

my best wishes to all of you,
Rainer

Thank you thank you. That chain was one of the most intriguing aspects of that linear drive...new to me.

Now I understand about that small glass window; to keep the electronics dust-free and still have access to them.

You enumerated some good music stuff; Dead Can Dance, Enya, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Al Di Meola, Madonna, ... Organ music.
And yes, let us know about Enya and that big church organ...highly interested.

* I like Michael Fremer, a lot. He's a busy man on his analog planet. I wish he can post here without fear and in advancing in the higher learning of turntable design evolution...yours. He is a member, he posted in the past, and the experience wasn't "stellar" for him. I want to apologize to him on behalf of myself and the others who had a tough childhood @ school and in real life. :b
Anyway it would be awesome for Mickey to interact right here, to welcoming Mickey here with wide open arms (tonearms). ;-)
So mister Michael Fremer if you are reading this come and talk with Rainer; ask him questions, and pro-act with a new dimension on that rotating world that we all love so much...rotating music.

Rainer, the more we learn from you the better and closer to the music we get.

I'll wager that this guy's product doesn't make a dent in the high end landscape and will be best remembered as an attempt to drum up interest via multiple postings on internet fora, and nothing more.

Thank you for your performance rating.
You have all my respect.

Rainer

I hope that:

A) You haven't mortgaged your house banking on making a living out of your product and

B) That you have a good fall-back income source to actually provide for yourself and family. Because..

C) I can't see you getting far as a turntable marque.

Prove me wrong. Please.

Rainer, I really enjoy reading about your projects and am impressed by your passion and efforts. Just looking at the photos and reading your brief descriptions raise many questions. There is another active and current thread about different drive types for turntables: rim/idler/DD/belt. Could you talk a little about your design and your thoughts on these different approaches? I'm also curious about your thoughts on the subject of isolating your turntables from both external vibrations and internally generated vibrations. There seem to be so many moving parts that I would think addressing vibrations would be a major challenge. How do you address this?
