If you are in the mood for raw, string-bending Albert King style blues, Carl is your man. He played in his band in the '70s.
I have heard him play some of the most raw, harrowing, bone-chilling blues for 40 minutes, snap out of it and play some happy pop song for 3 minutes to rest his psyche, and then go back into the deep blues for another 40 minutes.
+1!!!
The best blues guitarist I have seen live. Several times. At Rosa's of course, NYC, and Telluride. For Chicago style, hard to beat.
For Texas style however, check our Buddy Whittington. Played w John Mayall for years, don't know where he is now, but he is in very elite group of "the best" there is.
