For $15 I scored the Klipsch Synergy C1. A two-way design center speaker.
A quite hefty design.

Good condition.

For $9 Sam's Club Members Mark HDMI 6 ft
Gold plated cable (2). Brand new.

Olympus bookshelf speakers $12 (2).

I wanna see of you can do this for <$100. :)

For $17- 4 metal speaker stands. I paid a little more because they appeared to be a set. They were purchased two weeks apart. They are telescoping height adjustable. They allow the speaker wire to be routed through the stads.

(2) Polk Audio 2 way bookshelf speakers. Like new. $12 each

That is not to say you just walk in a store. It took months and it is competitive.

Polk, Olympus and Klipsh? Couldn't find the bargains in the same brand, I guess. Many years ago, I put together a cheap surround system, also. The different sound from the different speaker brands became annoying. How do these brands mesh?

I have not formed an opinion yet. I could in fact have found five speakers in the same brand. I choose to treat it like an NFL draft. I took the "best player available."

Subs $0- prexisting purchase Pair Yamaha powered subs.

Latest acquisitions- 150wpc Fisher integrated amp with phono. $15.Technics tuner. $3.25.
I never had any doubt about the benefits of warm up and break-in, I am completely convinced now.

I found what appears to be the companion Fisher tuner for the Fisher integrated amp. Strange it was in the same neighborhood but a different store. Go figure. $10 minus 25% for senior discount day.

You know the "make or break" will be the cables. This system will be ok with simple rat shack reel wire, but it will be bad ass with some Odin 2. You may get a deal on Odin 1 second hand if you can accept the step down.

I have been picking up cable mostly Monster
Generally $1.50. If it's brand new or really long it is a few more dollars. One store has noticed my buying habits and they have slightly raised their prices.

Box set of of four CD. Sarah Vaughn, $3.
