Hey guys!

I've been having some trouble with my orbital sander. I've only had it about a year and the paper lock is wearing out. Is anyone else having any issues with this model? I'm probably going to get a new one unless anyone has any suggestions for a better replacement.

Thanks,
Shaun Barratt

If the paper lock is wearing out, most likely one of two things are happening. You are either sanding with too much force for long periods of time or sanding the edges off when the paper starts to rip at the edges. The replacement pads shouldn't be more than around $10-$12.

Heat will disfigure and prevent the sandpaper from hooking properly, especially around the edges. This is regardless of the manufacturer IME. Welcome to the forum BTW.

Thanks for your response and warm welcome, Tom! :) Since it looks like it's actually my fault, what should I be looking for as a replacement? I mostly make sheds in my off time and with friends so my workload isn't so intense that I should need anything heavy duty. Or should I just stick with my current model when I replace it?

If you have any advice I'd appreciate it very much!

Thanks,
Shuan Barratt
