Nice AMP!!! Congrats! When do they arrive? Any comments about how they sound?
I've known about them since the first of the year which is why I elected not to purchase the 2010 and 2060 at the time.
I'm not 100% sure when the actual first production run of the 2110 will start, but I will have one of the units out of that run. I'm hoping within 4 weeks, but Boulder won't ship something as an actual product until they are 100% happy with it so there may be an unforeseen delay.
The 2160 doesn't exist yet and, in fact, I had to return Boulder's 2060 demo unit to them last week so that they could use it in testing 2160 sub-assemblies. I'm hoping to see the 2160 sometime in the mid to late fall timeframe.
Both products, although an evolution of their predecessors, are complete re-designs from the ground up. In the case of the 2110 the only common parts with the 2010 are the front panel buttons and the volume control disc (the machined parts, the electronic components they actuate are new).
No idea as to how they sound, but based on my experience with Boulder to date I'm confident that they will sound wonderful.
Here's some food for thought....
The 2000 series has been in continuous production for 17 years with no revisions and is still considered by many to be the absolute state-of-the-art in design and sound quality. The 2100 series needs to show some major improvements in order to top that.
This is the first time that Boulder has released a new product which has directly replaced an older product in their line. Over the years they've released a lot of products at different price points, but have never replaced a line with a newer one.
In a world of "flavor of the month" reviews and bi-annual product revisions Boulder's commitment to their designs is a true rarity.
