The Michelangelo is three panels per side -- a full-range panel plus two "subwoofer" panels.

Ron, absolutely nothing about this company
Even the actual website comes up w nothing
Doesn't quite meet yr provenance/longevity test

I didn't suggest I was buying it. :) I am just reporting.

Any new planar speaker is of some interest to our many planar-loving members.

Love the look and vintage graphics of their brochure, the speakers look really elegant!

Excursion is too limited on panels... I'd still want some dynamic driver bass augmentation.

I too enjoy the look. But I wouldn't want to see them soley in a cave of a room. They need some light and space.

Oh I know Ron, unless you were going MCH on top of yr Pendragons
But I'm confused as to there being ZERO Google references to this company, even when you type their website in verbatim

I was able to listen to them last week at MUNICH's HighEnd show. I really liked them. I found them very good looking and very good sounding. Those 3 ways Spanish speaker from AlsyVox use a ribon technology close to what is used our planar headphones. The provided Bass and their efficiency are surprisly good (93 db/w) for such technology.

They have a line of 4 models. The last 2 built on order. The Entry model cost 50.000 € and this Botticelli that we listened cost 80.000 € the pair , is 177cm high.

They've Sounded very good and exciting. What immediately struck me was the effortlessness of the Alsyvox ribbons and the abilities of the speakers to completely VANISH. I do not recall many other instances where a system was so able to just disappear. Sound was very, very clear and transparent with a realistic, big and open soundstage. The overall voicing was very studio-like, very even.

May be sometime they were a little agressive but they were driven by some stupid fancy Italian DAC/amps (The red ´spaghetti octopus' in the middle). I wish I could have listened to them with a good DAC/amp System like Vincent's TotalDAC + tube amp demo set-up.

Those have some excellent WAF for a Planar speaker. At 80K euro would you say they are as good or better than the Neolith?

I was also very impressed by that system with the Alsy Vox, in spite of the weird electronics... Didn't bother asking for the price... $80k... Damn!

Does anyone know what came of the Leonardo planars out of Italy?

Oh, I know they exist
But never seen them reviewed, at shows, w dealers etc
