Any requests for CES 2016? (Now Answers from Show)

Thanks, Amir. Photo looks good. I agree that the idea of less 'bling' and a lower price point is a good one. Interesting that the rep said they don't give off that much heat...that would not have been my expectation.
Well, as soon as he said that, I told him their current amps run too hot. He said not at all. I went over and touched the display unit and it was cooking so much it nearly burned my hand! He touches it and immediately pulls his hand off. He said that was not normal and that this was a 240 amp they converted to 120 and the bias was set too high. Not sure why the bias would change when you change the input voltage.

So I am with you. Those heatsinks are going to run warm to hot.

Amir, wouldn't it be nice if for a change when one asks a question of a rep and he doesn't really know the answer, that he states that he doesn't know the answer, vs....some kind of 'BS!
IMHO, there's way too much 'BS and other voodoo crap in our hobby as it is.

Humans begin to feel a burning pain when skin temperature rises to 111 degrees Fahrenheit.

Take an infrared thermometer next time...

Quick feedback here. Listened for quite a bit of time there. It was in a very dead room with panels everywhere. As a result it had a very focused image that was quite stable. That image however was too high for my liking as the tweeters were well above my ear level. They played a track from Albita Yo Quisiera:

The reproduction was incredibly detailed. Bass performance was excellent and not boomy. Amplification was 60 watt Class A amplifiers.

Overall above average sound for what was playing at the show. Pictures and details coming later.

Thanks for taking the trouble Amir , was especially interested as I have the Zanden 3000/9600 at home . Shall be installing them shortly , so glad to get your feedback . Have high hopes for the Zanden duo , based on all the feedback I have received . Look forward to more of your posts from CES . Cheers

Will hit that today.

The unison tech is supposed to awesome. I think you heard it last year. I wonder why they've only distributed it to their partners. They haven't released unison in their software. Will they ever release it?

I don't know. Will ask. They did a deal with Harman automotive last month which I suspect was on this basis.

Amir,
Anything from Spectral or Meitner that caught your eye? Meitner has a new transport and DAC. And the new Spectral DMC 30 "Super Veloce" preamp seems to have a few people jumping off of cliffs. Are either at the show?

Amir,

If you see Mola Mola DAC around (perhaps at Kii Audio), it would be great to hear a report.
Perhaps it is still integrated with Mola Mola Pre-amp.
Thanks

Which Verity model was it?

I heard them in the VTL room. I am unfortunately compromised there as I have good relationship with VTL guys so can't comment on anything negative :).

That said, I had an enjoyable time in the VTL room. They are always kind and play a lot of stuff for me and everything sounded very good. They dynamic range was excellent. They played an album I am familiar with in LP (I have it in High-res):

The shimmering highs were beautifully rendered.

The amplification was by S-400 VTL ($33,500). I will post more details of the room later.

Thank you.

I looked and did not find any pictures in my library so far. Nor any note. If they were there, I must have missed them.

So guys, here is my delima. What to do with nearly 500 pictures. In the past, I have created a closed thread and post them all. Then open it for discussion. Problem with that is that it is such a huge job that I procrastinate. The alternative is what I am doing now which is to create individual threads on products for which I have information to share. This breaks up the work allowing me to get the pictures out in bunches. The drawback for you all is that you have to click on many individual links to see the full coverage. There is no one album.

What do you think? How should I proceed?

We should be grateful that you're even doing this at all! Proceed as you deem fit and what conveniences you the most :)

You are a Microsoft expert...you should be able to resolve any dilemma of that sort.

I am no expert, I am just shooting ideas...in the "esperanza" (hope) that it might shake some bells:

1. All your pics ... in the same file.
2. Creation of a single link accessing that single file.

3. For discussions on single pics ... investing on more data to the site (here).
4. One single thread ... best.

Thanks guys. I will go at the rate I am going. Once done I may be able to merge them all into one thread too.
