Hint of new Magico products

I can see that the WBF Magico Owner's circle may have an active thread with all of the M Project customers. Congratulations. Has anyone heard this speaker?

What's the Magico Owners Circle?

Bruce, play nice and resist the temptation. There is also a Wilson Audio Owner's Circle on this very site. Both are sub forums located under the Member's Gallery forum.

I know Peter. Just trying to be funny. I'll go over to the Wilson side.

Did they say why?

There is not a reasoning in information mail from them. I presume they might be busy with current production orders as well as preparing for CES etc.

I message Magico regarding the delivery of my M Project but was ask to contact my local dealer..My dealer informed me that my pair is scheduled for delivery in Dec.

Seems like you will be listening to your speakers earlier than me! :)

I guess there is every possibility there will be a delay because when Magico launched the M Project they mentioned that the 1st Pair of the M Project will be shipped out in Oct.
As of now, have not heard anyone taken delivery of the 1st pair.

FYI. Announcement in the current TAS 248.

Starting price $129K.

I saw that, but didn't see the need for it if they are only making 50 sets, and they are already sold.

sold to dealers doesn't mean sold to customers
And at the end, this is for brand building

I had also been under the impression that the speakers were sold out. If not, then perhaps there is hope for people who want to be able to audition them at dealers before deciding to buy them.

What do you mean by "this"? The blurb in TAS, ie. scoop advertising, or the actual creation of the M Project? I'm hoping the development of this speaker will influence the designs of the next generation of Magico speakers. It is very good looking, IMO.

Peter, I doubt anyone will get to audition these. I would imagine that most dealers that still have a pair available will probably sell them before they are shipped. If that doesn't happen they may also be reluctant to open and put them on the floor because of the potential of less profit due to the fact they are now officially demos. Under normal circumstances dealers are OK selling demo products for less because of all the sales they generated. That will not be the case for these babies with them limited to 50.

But yes, I do agree about Magico's future and the Big M's being their best looking speakers to date (in my eyes). My guess, this M Project may be a new beginning for their next latest and greatest products, time will tell, we will have to wait and see. That is one thing that is so special about Magico, they never stop innovating and pushing the envelope. Fun stuff.... :)

Seems it becomes a new normal for the iconic hiend products. I have waited more than 6 months to have my Graham Elite tonearm delivered and I still know people on the waiting list almost up to 1 year. Hope Magico delivers M in January :)

not very surprising. We are talking about a small company, developing all technology in house, from drivers to cabinet. For sure problems happen when you move from prototype to production and that can create a few weeks delays. Moreover, we cannot expect them being able to ship the 50 pairs in a month....
Of course building a MDF speaker with off the shelves drivers is easier, but it wouldn't sound like a Magico...

I had a similar experience buying a super high end carbon bike frame: 4 months delays on delivery. Was very frustrating, but fast forgotten when I had a pleasure to ride an amazing machine.

I mean the blurb in TAS.
