Perhaps so! Boy, has SNL ever amassed as good a talent it had in that era?

No, it was definitely their Golden Era! I remember being in college then and the TV room on the dorm floor was SRO every Sat night for SNL (it was for Monty Python too :) ). Sadly, the show jumped the shark many years ago.

The first music video I recall seeing was also on SNL......I believe it was around 1979, 1980 and was Rickie Lee Jones.

The first music video I recall seeing was when the Beatles made one for Strawberry Fields and it played on the Ed Sullivan Show.

It might be argued that the musical montage, quick cut, visual effects interludes in Hard Days Night represented the invention of the music video.

The Monkeys included similar interludes on their weekly TV show.

This was all back in the mid-sixties.

I was saying this tongue in cheek :) Was referring to it as the first music video since it featured King Tut :)
