People like to talk about cheap tweaks? But what are the best, most effective tweaks that you paid a bundle for to get the top performance?

For me, it's Stillpoints vibration controls and Running springs and Shunyata power products.

Diffraction "masks" around midrange and/or tweeters. Obviously not all speakers benefit from this, but when they do it's an easily noticeable sonic improvement for a few dollars (<$10 in most cases). kind of the opposite of the thread's intention, but what the heck, it's too good not to mention.

MintLP arc protractor, an accurate pivot-spindle tool, a good digital scale for VTF, high quality magnifying loupe, a good light source and patience.

IME, many high end vinyl rigs are not performing anywhere near their capabilities because the set up is not optimized...
