Are Avalon speakers time and phased aligned like Vandersteen speakers? I seem to be getting varied answers to this question. Also I have heard because of the steep crossovers that transients are harsh and violin and piano are reproduced realistically.

Thanks

They are time and phase aligned but I have seen 2 samples, my eidolon Diamond included, where the midrange is not connected right. With 12 dB per octave 2nd order crossover the mid should be reversed relative to the woofer (there is a 1.5V DC battery test you can easily do) but they were wired wrong. That explains the harsh leading edge of violins in some samples and some would refer as “splashy midrange”. Easy to test and easy fix, but a bit disappointing.
