Hi all! I got this venerable cart from U-47 last year, we made a trade and I gave up my Bottlehead Eros and took this cart with a custom made gainstage. The carts response isn't exacly flat, there is either a dip or hump in the upper midrange (Rich can chime in here)?
However in my system, my open baffles are wanting a baffle step compensator, which I've not gotten around to yet, enjoying them too much. What I'm finding is that the cart/stage, warts and all, is a real tasty fit with the OB's... To the point that I've been preferring vinyl to tape lately (!!!)
I'm not a big 'measurements' guy.. I only use two peices of equipment for sound evaluation... My ears.
This cart does things no others have yet, and it's staying for now.
My question is: has anyone compared these to the SS?
And does Peter's setup have eq compensation to make the response flat?
