Hello,

Just curious how you like the TW Acustic table vs your Micro Seiki?
Would you be willing to share a few thoughts as to how they compare?

Thanks much!

Best wishes,
Don
Love my TWAcustics but MicroSeiki 8000 is many levels above. TWA is a great value. Vladimir Lamm had one for personal use. So you know that quality is excellent as well. Micro, however, can compare favorably with the best of them. There is a thread where DDK describes his ‘beyond’ class of turn tables. Micro 8000 is one of them.

Thank you for your quick reply and for sharing your thoughts with us!
It's always fun to be able to hear from someone who has two great turntables side by side :)

Best wishes,
Don

One would think they would sound similar because they are both fairly high mass platter belt drive. I bet the MS SX 8000 is quieter, calmer and more neutral sounding with a more natural presentation.

Imo TW is laid back and nice tones but not much more. Also too big a footprint, with that size of footprint it needs to be stellar.

DST replica has arrived. Lots of tweaking to be done, but here are the first impressions:)

This is sounding quite far from the Zyx and VDH Shostakovich or the Zyx Beethoven trio right now. I assume will take a bit more set up? Thanks again for sharing now, will be interested in hearing again after a few days

No. But can you play the cello pieces with Zara Nelsova please, either the Haydn or Bach from this LP, and also Kodaly, Rach, and the Beethoven with Balsam.
