I will use this thread to mention amazing, non commercially released recordings, across all genres,
that are musically or historically of high value. Live shows, studio out takes, rough mixes etc. FM,
Soundboard, you name it. Feel free to contribute/

First one:

Charlie Byrd - Herb Ellis - Barney Kessel:

Creteil, France 17 november 1981, FM master/Cassette/FLAC

France Inter FM broadcast.

Charlie Byrd, Herb Ellis and Barney Kessel : guitars
Joe Byrd : bass
Chuck Reed : drums

A jazz guitar fan's wet dream here folks.

Although the Grateful Dead are releasing many of their more notable concerts (I think over 200 now), Pink Floyd has done very little, and there are some excellent unreleased recordings especially from their early years. Some are 9/17/69, 4/29/70, 9(or 7)/16/70, 9/30/71, 11/21 and 22/70; there are a few more.

There used to be any number of unreleased pre-75 recordings of King Crimson, but over the past 15 or so years Robert Fripp has done his best to make every recording commercially available, even audience recordings of questionable quality. Likewise most of John Coltrane's FM broadcasts from the early '60's, which used to be prized by collectors, have come to commercial release on one or more labels.

Still, for the jazz fan European FM stations continue to be a gold mine. Choose your favorite artist and search www.dimeadozen.org (include dead torrents).

You are 100% accurate on all counts.

I will add that no matter how many shows the Dead and King Crimson add, there will always be those reels that got away and are freely traded.
