Moving this nascent thread from the Taiko Extreme forum to here. Music that will show off Taiko's new XDMS music player when it is released into the wild. Suggested by @Blackmorec and a damn good idea it is!

My two to get the ball rolling:

Play loud. Enjoy!

Here is @Blackmorec inspirational post with his very well-thought out proposed guidelines. I can't improve on what he suggests, so I won't -- I'll just copy and paste:

"Hey dear Extreme users,
How about creating a playlist to celebrate the release of XDMS. Each of you could submit a couple of songs that you would highly recommend other users listen to with the new SW.
The songs should meet a few criterea
1. Great music
2. Special attributes….should demonstrate some special attributes like, PR&T, Imaging and spacial, rhythm, immersion, acoustic elements and effects, venue revelation, atmosphere, feelings and emotions (musical messages), naturalness, intimacy, Interesting recording style, balance or atmosphere, you get the idea.
3. They dont have to be ‘perfect’ recordings, as long as the music + attributes far outway the shortcomings and the recording creates joy for the listener.
4. They should be recordings that you think will enhance the SW launch"

Two (to me) amazing tracks that are really well recorded and that offer soniq bliss when enjoyed via the Extreme.

Excellent music and very well recorded. Both are in my “Demo” playlist. Boris Blank (one half of Yello) produced and arranged Malia’s album and The Last Resort may be Trentemoller’s best album to date.

Thanks for posting!

Impossible task to boil it down to only two songs...here are a few albums I really enjoy. Not yet an Extreme customer will get there.

I can confirm that the Great Reunion indeed sound great (already when using Roon) in dsd256 rendered by the Extreme!

Another - in my mind even better dsd256 album, also from HDTT, is this one:

Yep! I have that in 128 as I didn’t want to wait for me Extreme to hear it. Great album. Here’s another:

Unfortunately I don’t know where you can get a high rez digital version. I found a digital Japanese copy on my server and can’t wait to here it on the Extreme!

Just picked up 6 albums from HDTT to try it:
- Bill Evans, Waltz for Debby
- Cannonball Adderley & Bill Evans, Know What I Mean
- Bach Violin Sonatas Grumiaux
- Coltrane, Ballads
- Ellington, Blues in Orbit
- Zetterlund/Evans, Waltz for Debby

Spoke with HDTT and confirmed their Gold CDs still represent remastering. Not sure what we will find, but certainly intriguing

Waltz for Debby sounds promising as we press play...and we have a few versions incl 1-2 sought after ones.
