I have no idea that the graph is accurate but I see the music I love as being very alive and vibrant. I am a folk/rock/alt guy and every week there are new releases that I love. Great young bands are playing great music and there's so much to discover. It may not be on the radio or be huge in sales but it's great to have it around.

Live music is better!

I have no idea how the data was obtained or how accurate it is, but it seems like a fairly accurate representation to me. Although I'm personally not too happy about the decline in Progressive Rock, I do like the fact that the distribution amongst many genres is more equal. There is a variety of music being listened to and that's a good thing IMO. Hip-Hop/Rap and Dance/Electronica seem to be growing.

I meant to say that I don't challenge the data at all just that it has nothing to do with my experience.
