It looks very interesting.
Do any WBF members have more info about it?

The finalized external look is now posted on the MSB Facebook.

These M500 monoblocks will be demoed at the coming Munich Show, room E221.

Any of you will attend the Munich Show this year?

Wow...an entire farad of capacitance inside a case 9" x 10" x 22"? i did not realize that could be done...i always thought the coke-can sized capacitors just took up a lot of real estate inside. Most interested to learn more.

This is "obviously" your next "upgrade" !!!
Hello jonyung,
Yes, they are beautiful!

But there are 2 problems :
1. I have already exhausted my upgrade budget for the coming several years. :(

2. The input impedence though adjustable, the max of 1.2k ohm is rather low.
Maybe they are designed for directly driven by Select DAC or have other thoughts.
There may be matching problem with some preamps.

As we used to say in the mainframe computer industry, 'Big Iron!' The S/N spec practically jumps off the page. Looks like these are likely to become aspirational products for some of us. Maybe offer some little brothers later (?).

I'm really anxious to hear them in Munich! Vince will be there, so that's guarantee of a proper setup!

I still wish they had added the display I requested... :)

They're impressive in person, but I still wish they had added a display, in place of that lit up logo for instance. But that's a minor quibble, the amps look fantastic. In their Munich room, they had a "naked" amp, with the parts/modules separate. Amazing stuff.

I think MSB is trying to correct a strategic marketing error with these new amps. For a company selling $100K+ DACs, the previous amps only cost $40K. At that relatively low price, no one took their amp-making prowess seriously (and they sound great with YGs at shows).

Competitors are much higer: D'Agostinos are $60K+, Pass Lands are $85K, top Boulder 3050 is over $100K. So are top Soulution, CH Precision, Dartzeels, Gryphons, and Consoulation.

Now the amps are more inline with their DACs and with what the top competitors charge, and is more congruent with their brand.

Listened to Extreme Audio MAAT speakers driven by a pair of MSB M500 mono poweramp at the Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show today.
The frontend was MSB Select Transport + Select DAC combo.
The sound was so so so good!

Congrats for getting a S200!
:D

I very much hope that MSB can launch a new and cheaper poweramp model similar to S200, employing some of the technologies of the new 500 Series.

I 100% agree that the 500 Series is outstanding sonically but it's very expensive.
