Anyone own or have heard the vintage Luxman AD8000 step up transformers? It looks like the AD8000 is the adapter wherein you mount either the 8020 (20dB gain) or the 8030 (30dB gain) transformers. Very cool system and seems to have SOT specs.

Any comparison to something like the Ortofon ST-80 or ST-90; Technics SH-305MC?

No one???

Well, I ended up buying an AD8000 and both 8020 and 8030 transformers from a Japanese EBay vendor. Really like the fact that you can use the transformer optimized for your cartridge (either 20 dB gain for moderate MC carts or 30 dB gain for low output carts). Got the whole setup for about $1300 which is pretty good for two sets of transformers with silver wire.
