JRiver Kickstarter to become WMC replacement!!!!

May 21, 2012
Jriver has a Kickstarter program that will add "copy once" to their product. This will allow you to view your encrypted channels (HBO, TMC, ESPN etc.) via JRiver. I think this is a grand project since Microsoft left HTPC users out in the cold with Windows 10 (I actually love 10 but I've waited to upgrade my main HTPC because there's no WMC for my encrypted channels).

If I were Microsoft - I'd throw a little cash their way to ensure that this product gets off the ground. What it will do for them is ensure the migration to Windows 10 for the people who currently holding out...and there's quite a few of them.

Here's a link to the Kickstarter page.

I chipped in but it ain't looking good for Jriver. For me, Verizon Fios doesn't have much copy once, so I'm not heartbroken if this never happens.
Yeah, doesn't look good at all. I just wish my ESPN HD wasn't considered encrypted:( You have to admit - $100k in less than a month is a lofty goal!!!!
