The wonderful thing about turntables is that they inspire a wide variety of ideas about how best to go about the tricky job of extracting the vibrations fromthe-ear.net

The latest incarnation of the Holbo Airbearing Turntable, which added a clamp to the package, is very reasonably priced - 4990 € for what you get, which is a fully air powered design of the sort that very few make now or ever. It’s nicely put together and well built, all it really needs is a dust cover. The fact that it tracks the vinyl in the same way as the cutting head on a mastering lathe gives it a distinct advantage and one that the results live up to, I recommend you have a listen.
48 grams whole tonearm with Denon dl103r and counterweight which can carry a cartridge up to 13 grams. On request, there is also a heavier counterweight that can carry cartridges up to 20 grams.Denon weighs approx. 10 grams with screws and plastic protection.May I ask what is the horizontal effective mass of the arm? Also, by looking at the photos, I believe the arm is a high pressure (at least relatively) design, how much air pressure does it need ?
Thanks
Unfortunately that doesn’t answer @thekong ’s question, effective mass of the tonearm?48 grams whole tonearm with Denon dl103r and counterweight which can carry a cartridge up to 13 grams. On request, there is also a heavier counterweight that can carry cartridges up to 20 grams.Denon weighs approx. 10 grams with screws and plastic protection.
The Holbo mk2 airpump has a pressure of 0.3bar and can carry air to the plater and tonearm for 3 turntables, so it uses very little air due to its extremely small tolerances.
He is probably satisfied with the answer; if not, he will ask again.Unfortunately that doesn’t answer @thekong ’s question, effective mass of the tonearm?
Probably you’re right but since he brought up the subject I can’t help but wonder what is the effective mass of the tonearm on your turntable? He is probably satisfied with the answer; if not, he will ask again.
As written on the Holbo website; 31.6 gProbably you’re right but since he brought up the subject I can’t help but wonder what is the effective mass of the tonearm on your turntable?
