* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

'The Eiger Sanction' with Clint Eastwood as both actor and director. ...Some common traits.

* 'North Face' will be released on Blu-ray on June 25 (eleven days from now), in North America.

Not even close, Bob. Eastwood's movie, however, is the only way most folks have heard of the Eiger. It was considered the last great challenge of the Alps, and Nordwand tells the story of the earliest attempts. Eastwood's film is set several decades later. Eastwood's film is fun though.

What I meant was the mountains, the Alps; the Eiger one. ...The main "common trait" with 'North Face'.

Eiger mountain; the north face.

* Lee, what medium or download did you use? ...Or did you get it from abroad? ...The DVD and Blu were released quite a while back;
from Germany, Sweden, UK.

Cool, I'll get the Blu when it comes out here.

* I'm not a climber myself per se, but I planted trees on many many mountains, all across British Columbia.
...And some very steep ones too; 78 degree, and even straight cliffs (90 degree) where I had to go around, because I was wasting my time and money climbing those, back in the mid seventies.
So yeah, I did climb some steep ones in my career, and many broken bones too ....
I did that for almost thirty years! ...And over two million trees by my hands alone!

I don't like planting flat surfaces, it's boring. I love challenges, dangers, very tough grounds with heavy slash, and steep terrains.
I've always been in super shape; I was the best! In my career, I can only count few who were faster, and stronger.
I planted some trees (cedars) that were already five-foot tall, right after planting them! ...And between 1,000 and 1,500 of them each single day!
I don't know exactly the highest elevations that I've planted some; but I presume between 5,000 and 9,000 feet high. ...Not high, but when working at the extreme you can feel it, in your lungs!
I've done some "special" missions, only for the hardcore planters who aren't afraid of the steepest mountain's flanks.
Anyway, I've mentioned some before about this job (my job), and I could easily write an encyclopedia on my experiences.

You and I have some common traits (that's one of them) for sure. ...Audio (Music) is another. ...Cinema?

Yes, I got some Documentaries on Mountain Climbing as it's in my blood somehow. ...Anything Everest, K2, ... related, is a very strong attraction of mine. ...Among others.

Um, and June 25 has already come and gone. Canada isn't that far behind is it? :)

(I just ordered the US version; thanks for the heads up!)

June 25 is not here yet in Canada. :D

* You're right, I was space-out! :D

** No wonder, I live in Canada! :D

Thank you for your good sense of attention (observation), and for mentioning it. :b

I was in a mood for a 'fun' sci-fi flick. :D ...It came about yesterday when I was looking at the sun and the moon at the same time up in the sky (mid-afternoon or so here on my Island).
In that flick ('Predators') there is an eventual revelation regarding where they are exactly, and that was the entire 'key'.

Once in a while that's how I choose to revisit a film, just from a simple actual flash.

* Here's that screenshot that came to my mind when looking at my actual sky yesterday,
and from which the inspiration to revisit that sci-fi flick:

--> When you love Cinema as I do you even think cinematique.
And when you write poetry, songs and all that jazz, you even write some scripts in your head; you think like a movie director.
As a true artist (visual and auditory; physical ...), I am always inspired by every true event in my life.

* Interesting (serious remake), and seriously bloody! ...All in good order though as to what a cool horror movie should be about.
Highly recommended for fans of the genre, and also others who can stomach it, or not! :b

I watched part of it; I'll watch the rest tonight. ...My bag.

Absolutely gripping. An account, based on fact, of one of the early attempts to climb the north face of the Eiger. Documenting both the political climate and the intense competition of the times, this film was so "edge-of-seat" that my wife couldn't watch some parts. The struggle of friends Hinterstoisser and Kurz makes great cinema IMO.
