Watched the first hour of 'Empire of the Sun' which is Spielberg's most underrated movie IMO. Great transfer.

But it's in black and white...?? And not in english....??? I don't recognize any of the stars....

Well, it's not from Hollywood, so money is not the ultimate goal, and black & white is coming back, just like turntables , and it's exotic because it's from Czechoslovakia (speaking), and not only that but also because it's considered to be the very best one (flick) coming from there (over). :b

P.S. Just rent it, you'll see! ...All will become very clear and obvious.

Watched this awful thing last night;

Absolutely gripping. An account, based on fact, of one of the early attempts to climb the north face of the Eiger. Documenting both the political climate and the intense competition of the times, this film was so "edge-of-seat" that my wife couldn't watch some parts. The struggle of friends Hinterstoisser and Kurz makes great cinema IMO.
