I have heard the Townshend bases under my colleagues Marten Contranes generation one and they did indeed make a noticeable difference in bass detail and midrange clarity. That said, I have heard Joe's CMS footer under three different levels of VSA loudspeakers on multiple occasions, including under demanding show conditions. I have also heard them "before and after" under extremely high end electronics including our own WestminsterLab gear, MSB, Lamm and Lampizator Horizon DAC and the differences were anything but subtle. Perhaps those with less resolving systems may not hear their value but I can assure you that in a well sorted high-end system they are quite special.

I 110% agree with what others have said, it's always good to contribute when one has done an A/B comparison of a product or has extensive experience with it, preferably in their own system. Anything less is a disservice to the manufacturers and the readers.
