Hi folks -

I've repaired an Ayre VX-5 Twenty stereo power amplifier for a friend, but not knowing the original power up/down characteristics, I'm wondering if someone with a functional unit would be so kind as to describe their unit?

Here's what I note -

Upon power up:
  • Rocker switch powered on
  • Solid Red LED illuminates for 2 seconds, then goes off and the green ring on the push button illuminates
  • If music is being streamed through the inputs during the power up process, you hear a brief bleed-through as it powers up, just prior to the active mute circuit takes effect
  • Pushing the push-button toggles between blue LED (actively on), green LED (muted), or hold to revert to the green ring on the push button (standby)
Upon power down:
  • Place unit in standby with no LED, only the green ring on the push button
  • Rocker switch powered off
  • Green ring on the push button remains on for about 45 seconds as the unit discharges
  • Green ring goes off and the solid Red LED illuminates until fully discharged
  • If music is being streamed through the inputs during the discharge process, you hear a brief bleed-through of music as it discharges
Is this typical behavior?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

V2
