Hi everyone,

I am planning to get new SSD's for my fan-less music service.

Did anyone done a kind of shoot out what SSD Model has the best SQ for a high end music system?

Kind regards Ilona

I was told to get a Samsung 870 EVO and I recently installed it in my music server. Unfortunately, I haven't compared it to other SSD's.

Pricey Intel used in the SGM Extreme server or at the very least NVMe mounted on a PCIe card so they access direct CPU lanes.

OS SSD can be small enough so high quality is attainable. 32gb - 64GB SLC type (brand names Apacer, Swissbit, Intel).

Music SSD capacity ranges from 512KB to 2TB or 4TB. Without knowing better, I'd go with Samsung 860 Pro Series.

For much better SQ, I'd power both with external linear power supplies.
