Abbas dac 2.1 se

Ooh a sweet spot for sure , congratulations and look forward to reading your updates.
If you have ordered new, its been said before the wait is worth it!! So it might be a while, these hand built gems make digital music listening so enjoyable.
I noticed a new listing on the secondary market, someone selling a similar model and focusing on analogue.
Could you be the lucky new owner?
Thank you, no it is being made new for me by Abbas.

It will come with a few mods, the Wolfson spif receiver and EI power transformer for digital section.
Maybe i will ask for a very nice Tda chip, if possible. But i think it will cost a lot and can always upgrade later on.

Nice additions. It will be interesting to here the Wolfson chip in an Abbas DAC and the EI in the digital section is going to get you music from the 3.22 IMO.
I like my upgrade in the 3.2 SE to an S1 chip although it has its risks changing it out and run in time if you find a NOS is boring. S2 even better (studer type;) LPG has one in his 2.2SE and its magic).
I cant help but think the Abbas implementation round the DAC chip will be voiced, so I ordered the S1 for the Psyche from Abbas. In the signature version I dont want to play too much. I want it to have a long and happy life.
All the best with the purchase.

Hi Jesper,
I would be interested how Abbas DAC sounds comparing to Audio Note level 3 ? I was hard-line Lampizator owner, from base Amber to mid /base Baltic 4. Until I compared it side-by side / ear by ear :)/ with AN 3.1x II Balanced. AN, for my perception, has much more "organic" sound, more towards vinyl, less analitical then Lampi. For me - easier to listen, especially for longer runs. With AN you just forget about the instruments, singers, players, ensemble etc - just the music. Baltic 4 is gone to the new owner, replaced by AN (3.1 IIx DAC + Vindicator Siver Signature amp + M1/2 pre/phono). Now, for my summer / 2nd house I am preparing 2nd gear set. It will be based around Mr Liang / Lampi mood 845 amp. Looking for top-notch DAC with pocket-friendly price tag. Found Mr Abbas here, in this forum, looks very promising. I would appreciate any your thoughts/ impressions. Thanks Dymitr

Difficult to answer this question without sounding like i think either product are bad.
Which i dont think is the case.

I think you’re right audio note is more organic less detail focussed than lampizator.

The Abbas dac, however, will knock the socks off the audio note. It retains the organic nature but with more detail, life, resolution. An experience not dissimilar to upgrading the phonostage in your vinyl chain.

I particularly like the tda 1541 based models. Dont skimp on the auxiliaries. The abbas dacs have a simple taste — they like the best: receiver chip, good robust cd transport, usb/spdif converter, digital cable, good tubes, etc.

@d_de_luxe No experience with Lampi but I have heard my 3.2SE three times in a system with a ANK 5.1 (heavily modded) and with 3 pairs of ears in the room. The consensus 2 out of 3 times was the Abbas was clearly the more musical. The transparency Abbas gets from the TDA 1541 is amazing. The third time I had a pair of Tungsol 5998 in that where not burnt in properly and sounding not good. Of course I went home in tears that night!:)
IMO you dont have to go too far up the food chain to be very happy but climb as high as you like for sure you might be surprised.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this approach is intended to speed up the completion of orders.

Best regards "

Well, I hope the man is ok & he will continue his work.
I will continue the research, maybe I will find Abbas DAC for audition closer to home. Thank you again

I sent an email to Abbas couple days ago, but no answer....
Did anyone was in contact with him in the last days?

Cheers
I did, yesterday, for general enquiry. Automated reply says they will contact me sometime in April 2026 ..... Well, Ukraine has a tough time nowadays, also Mr Abbas seems to be not the youngest between the bunch ... Anyway, I am looking for one of newer Abbas DACs, somewhere in Europe, to compare with my Audio Note 3.1x/II Balanced. Cheers

Hi,

I'd compared my Abbas Audio 3.2 SE & HERMES Signature against Audio Note DAC5 V2 special, so pretty damn heavy contender and I LOVE Audio Note products! Lampi (older Golden Gate) I'd some time prior to Abbas and it is also doing well.

All i say: you do not need pay triple/quad the prize to get very, very close to AN or Lampi, or even SW1x.

Here is always my personal note: Abbas is one of the best contender if you love DAC tube output stage in perfection and majority you listen is not HiRes and a killer for good redbook/cd's. The details he pays attention is AN/Kondo/Shindo Level!

I'm confident with my personal comparison, as I've in contrast my Grimm Audio MU2 and the killer-combi: Ideon Audio ION + Antipodes K22 G4 - NONE of them I'd sell again...

Rgds,
Gerald

P.s.: the respond you get from Abbas is normal, I'm pretty sure he has larger Orders, besides the war craziness, as we know as close neighbours the are again heaviley targeted/bombed by ru!!

Hi Gerald, thank you for your kind words. We are in touch with Abbas, he seems to be unaffected by war. He is suggesting 2.41 model for me, we are figuring out audition options. Sounds very promising.
