John French is one of the last remaining true gems in the analog tape world (Jay McKnight is the other) who will be difficult to replace when he decides not to work on tape heads anymore. I have never heard of anyone to say anything negative about him and his work - a fine example of a true expert and a nice person for me to mimic or try to anyway.

I have been accumulating headblocks to send to him for his magic - I am up to 7 and need three more to go for his volume deal. ;)

Thanks Bruce/Ki - I am sending my BR20 headblock (maybe I can include it with Ki´s batch and get a bundle pricing) :)

John has my Otari MX5050BII-2 for MTR-10 smooth head upgrade. These are Otari's extended response beauties. John is a wealth of knowledge and great fun to be around for a tapehead.

I have just learned that my "Trashcam" head block is fixed, so I need to perform the uograde locally, I might order the extended freq heads and build up from there. This deck packs tape beautifully!.
