I was loading a disc into my Scarlatti Transport yesterday evening and as ever marvelled at the TEAC Esoteric VRDS mechanism as it slid in and out.
It seems to me that it is a prime example of audio engineering excellence and it made me wonder about other examples hence this thread.
Which other examples would members cite?
I am not thinking of complete components like amps, sources and speakers where considerations of individual taste can be so important, but rather individual pieces such as the above or, for example, a tonearm.

The motorized lid of the Mark Levinson ML31 / ML31.5 opening and closing. Every time one ML31.5 shows in the used market at nice prices I have to tell my self 10 times - no I am not going to buy it!
