I’m looking for alternatives to my Burmester 897 Preamp with MC phonostage installed. It’s given me so much headache and total cost including frequent transport now stands at >$4800. So I’d like to ask what options are there under $5K that serve as an integrated preamp with flexible phonostage? The main feeds will be my Marantz TT15S1 turntable and my PS Audio PerfectWave DAC along with my Oppo 103DSE.

These are rare to see used, but an 868PL (phono + line stages) appeared on Audio Asylum the other day: http://www.audioasylumtrader.com/ca...-Yoshino/868PL/Phono-Linestage-Pre-Amp/192627

The 868PL will be a bit less bloomy than the aforementioned 912 and a bit stripped down. One less phono MC input (as memory serves), and some different circuitry. For example the 912 will have input, output, as well as interstage transformers where I think the 868 omits the latter. The 912 adds an extra tube in the phono section as well. I've got a 88PB, I had a 868, and I am well acquainted with 912 so if you have questions, feel free to PM me.
